Sustainability

Wine, for good.

Manaaki whenua, Manaaki tangata, Haere whakamua
If we take care of the earth and take care of the people, we take care of the future.

Growing up on our family farm in Marlborough, we learned early on to look after the land, help our neighbours, and do things the right way — even when it’s not the easy way. So when we built Tiraki, it made sense to carry those same values forward.
We tread lightly on the land we call home.

Our Sustainability Practices
Caring for the land
We are committed to being a sustainable wine brand. While focussing on energy, water and waste, this also encapsulates how we work with raw materials, supply chains, packaging and transport.

Longfield Farm has been in our whanau for over 150 years. We have a sense of responsibility to continue on this legacy for generations to come. The only way we see this is possible is to nurture and look after the land that give so much to us. Native plantings decorate the property to increase biodiversity. Tiraki chooses suppliers that share in our values and do their best to mitigate environmental impacts.
Our Community partners
Supporting Local
Being ingrained in the community is an important part of who we are; we feel it’s our responsibility to give back, pay it forward and support the people who support us.

Our priority when purchasing is to support local businesses rather than corporate colossi. We commit to source >50% of our costs from local companies.

Each year Tiraki donates >2% of our revenues to charitable organisations. We are proud to support local charities such as the Picton Dawn Chorus and Friends of Rotoiti that do amazing conservation work.

As we grow, our activities supporting local communities and environmental conservation will grow alongside.
Our bcorp certification
Wine, for good.
In January 2023, the efforts of our adventurous company were recognised as we became B Corp Certified, joining a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. Proudly we are the first wine brand in NZ to attain certification.
